Owners of lighting equipment, including car parks, business parks, caravan parks and other areas where the public and employees have access, have a duty of care to ensure that the apparatus does not cause danger to the public.  It is therefore important that they undertake regular inspection on lighting columns and other post mounted items to ensure that these have not deteriorated through excessive corrosion, and that their condition is monitored to facilitate future maintenance planning.

In line with the introduction of Guidance Note 22, CLT have developed our own inspection and testing procedures to record and publish GN22 Column Condition Index (CCI) scores.

It is the sectors’ long-term goal to be able to obtain these scores nationally, to allow for the comparison between local authorities and in turn for those duty holders to target their most vulnerable areas in need of funding for column replacement.

We offer a comprehensive Non-destructive testing service using the latest Non-Destructive Testing tools for the detection and estimation of corrosion damage at ground level and below, to the root of the column, alleviating the need for excavation. Moreover, our test results will ascertain the risk category, life expectancy and retest period of each column, whilst highlighting dangerous columns immediately.

Our inspectors are NDT Level 2 Qualified
